A three-dimensional rendition of René Magritte's 1962 painting La Folie des Grandeurs, literally translated "The Folly of Grandeur."
Outside at the Getty Art Museum in Los Angelos is the sculpture La Folie Des Grandeurs (Delusions of Grandeur) in bronze. The original sculpture is composed of three hollow female forms within each other - like a Russian doll of bronze. A pair of robust thighs serves as an elegant base. From within this form rises a longer and more slender lower torso. Finally, an almost complete torso rests within the first two pieces (see one of the photos).
