About Gustav Kimt
The influential Vienna Secession (Viennese Art Nouveau / Jugendstil movement) owes its fame to the important contribution Klimt made to it during his lifetime.
As with most influential artists, his style is immediately recognizable. He had a great preference for symbolism in the form of powerful, untouchable and particularly sensual women and this is also reflected in a large part of his oeuvre.  The femme fatale plays a major role in his work. Klimt also had a great sense of graphics, decorative surfaces and patterns and the use of materials. He considered gold essential in works of art and you will see them in many paintings and therefore also the Klimt sculptures.
