Replica of Le Grand Duc, the fluently shaped and famous owl by sculptor Franςois Pompon, the original of which can be seen at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
The owl figurine from the museum's collection is made under licence and has a stamp under the foot.
In the gift box is a small brochure with information about the artist Francois PomPon, who made many more fluently shaped statues of animals during his life, which we also have in the collection. Frrancois Pompon died on 6 May 1933.
